Just a few days ago my mom finally hit the big 50! We managed to get her a cake in time accompanying a present and a card, hand drawn and filled with heartfelt messages from every single one of us. Her best friend had this cheeky idea of placing 50 candles on a home baked cake which we made much effort to uphold! The evening was spent with close ones while we caught up over my mom's famous steamboat and my dad's steaming hot balacan. In short, we got to spend some invaluable quality time as a family with everyone dressing themselves with silly props. Even my mortarboard had a piece of the action.
I know sometimes we disagree, we may bicker and even throw tantrums, but as a daughter and a friend, I just want to thank you for everything. I mean this from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for always believing in me, for continuously being a supportive parent, for the unending sacrifices you've made, for being such a good friend and lastly, for allowing me to live my dreams and aspirations.
I couldn't have asked for a better mother. Needless to say, anyone who knows you could never disagree.
